Kentucky NSF EPSCoR Funding Opportunity
KY NSF EPSCoR is announcing a new honors program aimed at increasing the number of underrepresented students in the program—the Kentucky NSF EPSCoR Research Scholars Program (RSP). The program seeks to support the research involvement of outstanding students who are underrepresented in science majors. Women, racial/ethnic minoritiesi, the disabled, and students from Appalachian Kentucky countiesii may participate. Students enrolled at any Kentucky post-secondary institution are eligible to apply.
Interested students can receive up to $5,000 per calendar year to support their involvement in the research of the KY NSF EPSCoR initiative areas. The award must be used to directly support the student (via wages, stipends, travel, supplies, or some other direct form of support). The proposed budget and activities are at the discretion of the mentor faculty. KY NSF EPSCoR has a wide breadth of S&T focus areas, which include: nanotechnology, metabolomics, visualization/virtual environments, and environmental science.
