COS Student Travel Grants Available
The Association of American Geographers (AAG) International Geographic Information Fund (IGIF) offers Student Travel Grants for the support of student travel to national and international symposia or specialized meetings sponsored by recognized professional organizations supporting activities associated with specific aspects of geographic data analysis and handling and geographic information systems. The program is designed to support college and university student career development in the academic areas of applied spatial data analysis or geographic information systems (GIS).
IRAPP Professor Presents Paper in Denver
Dr. Timothy S. Hare, Assistant Professor of Anthropology in the Institute for Regional Analysis and Public Policy, presented a paper titled, “Geographical Accessibility and Kentucky’s Heart-Related Hospital Services” at the ESRI Homeland Security GIS Summit & Health GIS Conference in Denver.
IRAPP Professor Coauthor of Book Chapter
Dr. Timothy S. Hare coauthored a chapter published in the book, "After Collapse: The Regeneration of Complex Societies". The chapter is titled “The Regeneration of Maya Society During the Late Postclassic Period”.

Hail elected president of KPSA
Dr. Michael W. Hail, assistant dean for the Institute for Regional Analysis and Public Policy and director of the Masters in Public Administration program at Morehead State University, has been elected president of the Kentucky Political Science Association (KPSA) for 2007.
Dean of IRAPP elected treasurer
Dr. David Rudy, Morehead State University professor and dean of the Institute for Regional Analysis and Public Policy, has been elected treasurer of the Society for the Study of Social Problems.
