Assistantships & Scholarships

We have scholarships, fellowships, and assistantships available for qualified full-time students that support graduate study.

Full-time Scholarships
Tuition scholarships may be received based upon academic merit.
Applications must be completed and are reviewed by April 30.

Graduate Assistantships
Graduate assistantships or research assistantships range from $10,000 up to $18,000 and provide the opportunity to work with faculty on research projects for up to 20 hrs/wk. Graduate assistantships do not include tuition remission at Morehead State University.

African-American Graduate Assistantships
Students who are African-American Kentucky residents may qualify for the African-American GA. You must be unconditionally admitted to a graduate degree program, enroll as a full-time student in 600 level courses, and maintain a 3.0 cumulative GPA. The assistantship will provide a stipend for the academic year, a full waiver of tuition, and free University housing. The housing rate is based on a double occupancy room in Fields Hall. Qualified students are eligible to receive a graduate assistantship for two years while completing a graduate degree.

Research Assistantships
These are competitive based upon academic merit. Applications must be completed and are reviewed by April 30. These applications are submitted to the MPA Director by email or via the IRAPP office, Combs 110F.

Part-time Scholarships
Qualified part-time students may receive scholarships of up to $500.00.

Research Positions
Students may be hired to assist faculty with ongoing research projects. Contact the MPA Director to discuss current opportunities.
