A Government or Public Policy major will prepare you for a career in law, government service, and teaching. To assist you in making a career choice, the American Political Science Association has published Careers and the Study of Political Science: A Guide for Undergraduates, which describes the career opportunities available to government and political science students and provides useful information on choosing a career.

LAWGovernment and Public Policy majors have graduated from all three Kentucky law schools and out-state law schools, including Georgetown University, Indiana University, Ohio State University, Vanderbilt University, the University of Texas, and Tulane University. TEACHINGGovernment and Public Policy majors have studied for graduate degrees in political science at the University of Louisville and University of Kentucky. GRADUATE STUDYGovernment and Public Policy majors can also pursue the MPA (Master of Public Administration) or the MA in Government at MSU. This degree is a preparation for community service or for further graduate study in Law or doctoral study. |
