April Miller

April is a 1990 graduate of Morehead State University where she earned her BA in both Sociology and Psychology.  After completing her degree she came back to MSU in 1991 serving as an assistant Residence Hall Director before working for the Cabinet for Health and Family Services as a Family Services Worker for Social Services until May of 1995.  She was employed by Eastern Kentucky University from 1995 until 2005 as a Regional Training Coordinator on contract for The Cabinet for Health and Family Services stationed in Ashland, Kentucky.  During her employment with EKU, she was able to obtain her Masters in Science degree from the University of Louisville in 2004.  April joined the IRAPP family in May of 2005 as the Director of the Training Resource Center.  The training resource center also serves the Cabinet for Health and Family Services as Trainers, coordinators, and facilitators for the employees of the Department for Community Based Services.  The Training Resource Center is located in 114 Rader Hall.

April serves on the PAVE committee (Partners Against Violent Environments), and the SATF (Sexual Assault Task Force) locally as an area chapter of Prevent Child Abuse Kentucky.  When she is not coordinating or training for the Cabinet, she is looking for resources for employees and students relating to the human services arena.  She was recently asked to serve as a trainer for the Cabinet for Families and Children staff in the area of Exploring Cultural Diversity and Prejudice.  The Training Resource center also serves as the hub for addressing Learning needs for Department For Community Based Services through monthly meetings with professional trainers in that field and addressing learning needs and continuous quality improvement.
